3rd Introductory Course in Kashmir Shaivism : Shiv Sutras and their commentarial tradition - First Awakening
29th November 2015 to 5th December 2015
The Ishwar Ashram Trust (founded by Shaivacharya Ishwarswaroop Swami Lakshmanjoo Maharaj) conducted a workshop on Shiva Sutras - the supreme awakening and its commentarial tradition (First Awakening) from (29th November 2015 to 5th December 2015) . This week long residential course was held at New Delhi (Sarita Vihar) Ishwar Ashram complex through a formal application process. Students from as far as Kerala registered for the workshop.

The course comprised of Shaivacharya Swami Lakshmanjoo’s recorded lectures, lectures on Kashmir Shaivism by learned scholars from India, group discussions and a course end presentations by enrolled students. The workshop focussed on Shiva Sutras - The Supreme Awakening and its Commentarial Tradition. The faculty of the workshop included Dr Navjivan Rastogi, Dr Mark Dyczkowski, Prof M L Kukiloo, Dr Meera Rastogi and Dr S S Toshkhani.

On the last day of the workshop, the Ishwar Ashram Trust held a symposium to celebrate 1000 years of earthly existence of Acharya Abhinavagupta. This half day symposium had talks by Dr Navjivan Rastogi, Prof M L Kukiloo, Sh Virender Qazi and Dr S S Toshkhani.

On this occasion, the Ishwar Ashram Trust released a souvenir along with a short life sketch on Swami Lakshmanjoo Maharaj (in English). The trust also released the seminal text of Paramarthsaara (with English revelations by Swamiji). The trust conferred the “Shaivacharya Swami Lakshmanjoo Samman” on the eminent scholar, Dr Navjivan Rastogi in recognition of his tireless efforts in spreading the message of Kashmir Shaivism and his extensive scholarly contribution to the same.

The symposium ended with a dance recital by Ms Tanvi Raina and vote of thanks.
